Death of An Arab Hero

Innalillah...Saddam Hussein was finally executed on the early morning of Eid ul-Adha, at approximately 6.00am local time of 30th December 2006 by hanging as many Iraqis began celebrating the holy day. There goes one Arab who could stand and fight against the US and its allies all these years.
The execution was seen as the first sacrifice for the Eid. This angries many Iraqis as it has sadden the day that was supposed to be a happy and holy day. But the new government of Iraq has seen the date of execution as essential, and a big step forward in moving on.
I was sad when I first learned about this on the news last night, as I could remember during school we used to talk about how brave Saddam was in standing up against the Americans. It was funny how at first, it was the Americans who supported Saddam during the First Gulf War of 1980-88. In 1982 with Iranian success on the battlefield, the U.S. made its backing of Iraq more pronounced, supplying it with intelligence, economic aid, normalizing relations with the government and also supplying weapons. The American President Ronald Reagan decided that the United States "could not afford to allow Iraq to lose the war to Iran", and that the United States "would do whatever was necessary and legal to prevent Iraq from losing the war with Iran." And now it was the Persians who helped the Americans capture the country and Saddam himself. I guess thats how the world's politics goes. (NB: I just found out that it was the Americans that helped to create the Vietcong in Vietnam, in order to drive out the French from Vietnam soil, but then turned against them)
There is a video of the execution on the net, and could be found easily if you search it. The one I watched is an amatuer video taken with a mobile phone, but there was also a cencored footage taken by a videographer. The amateur video shows the entire execution process, and includes the moment when the platform was dropped and Saddam falls into it. He has recited the shahadah and was finishing it again when the platform dropped. I looked into the Wikipedia page on the article about the execution last night, and was surprised that they 'could not' determine what his last words were, but from the video of the execution it could be clearly heard that he was reciting the shahadah. I tried to edit the page, and put down that his last words are the shahadah and that it could be clearly heard from the amateur footage. But this only lasts 2 or 3 minutes as somebody else deleted it and put back 'he made some other remarks up to the hanging but this could not be determined.' I was furious that somebody did not want the truth to be known to the public and edited the article a few time before I finally gave up and went to sleep. When i woke up this morning, somebody already edited it and put down the truth to be heard. There was also a funny entry in the article which was removed later - somebody put down "Saddam, as he is sentenced to death by butt sex hanging." Vandals.
I put the entry as 'Death of An Arab Hero' because thats how I see him. Maybe he was wrong with all the killings, but I think with the main three sects of his country, the Sunni, the Shi'ite and the Kurds who kept on fighting each other as long as the world can remember, the dictatorship was essential and he was successful in uniting Iraq and also successful in moderning it before the wars.
I maybe dont really know them, but from a recent personal experience of the Kurds people, I now could understand why Saddam did it. As one of my Arab friend states, 'The Kurds people are hard people, fraudulent, no wonder Saddam gassed them.' And referring to my own personal experience, he added "He is lucky he's here, if he's in Iraq Saddam would have gassed his asses off". What a guy.

Finally able to use the damn phone again

Lost a couple of my O2 simcards back in early October. Then, from a former experience, I specifically told O2 that I just lost the sims when I called to report it lost, NOT the phones and asked them to block only the sim cards and not the phone itself, before I could get new ones. Then, as stupid as O2 gets, they blocked the IMEI of my Nokia 8800 phone, although the phone was not registered or associated with the lost sims. I got the phone with another contract. Their excuse was, the phone was blocked because it was last used with the sims - somehow they got the IMEI number of the phone whenever you restart the phone with a sim and then got associated.

That was the start of a three-months battle to get my phone usable again. FYI, there's a centralised system in the UK, where, when a phone reported stolen or lost, the IMEI number of the phone was entered into the system and then blocked across all networks in the country. This is also widely known as 'Blacklisting'. Then, whats gonna happen is, the next morning you'll wake up next to your unusable phone which appears to not receive any signals. If you restart the phone, it will display "Sim Card Registration Failed". For a Motorola phone, it will appear as "Unregistered Sim" (Yes, has happened to me before) No calls can be made in or out, except emergency calls only, of course.

Thats what happens if you report your phone lost or stolen here in the UK. If you're gonna fraudulently report your phone lost, and claim the insurance to get a new one, send the old phone back to Malaysia where it should be able to be used again (applicable to Malaysians who 'sometimes' like this option). Such system does not exist yet in Malaysia. Kalau phone kena ragut ngan Mat Rempit tu, redha je la. But thats maybe not for long, because there are talks that they gonna try to centralise the system across the world. But I really doubt thats gonna happen anyway.

Okay, to my story then. Since the first day that I discovered that my phone was blocked, I have been calling 02 to try to unblock it. Every time I called they say they have sent forms to the network department that deals with blacklisting, and says that its gonna be resolved in 3 to 5 days. Then 5 days passed and still nothing happens. I called them again. Same thing promised but still Im waiting for nothing to happen. But I kept on calling, never gave up, after all this is my Nokia 8800 which I waited for nearly a year for its price to come down before I could buy it. It must have been over 20 calls or more, week after week, and I felt like calling them family now. haha. Empty promises goes on, until last week, which was 3 months later.

That morning, I restarted my phone and then 'O2-UK' appears! Finally.

NB: Ape daa anti-klimaks nyer citer. hampeh. Tp tensen tgh tunggu gaji masuk nih. Penat baru balik keje. malas nak type dah.
Moral of the story: dont get ur phone blacklisted - it'll get to ur nerves, a damn nuisance.

Honeymoon Postcard

A mother had 3 daughters. They were all getting married within a short time period. Because mom was a bit worried about how their sex lives would get started, she made them all promise to send a postcard from the honeymoon with a few words on how marital sex felt.
The first girl sent a card from Hawaii two days after the wedding. The card said nothing but "Nescafe." Mom was puzzled at first, but then went to the kitchen and got out the Nescafe jar. It said: "Good till the last drop." Mom blushed, but was pleased for her daughter.
The second girl sent the card from Vermont a week after the wedding, and the card read: "Benson & Hedges." Mom now knew to go straight to her husband's cigarettes, and she read from the Benson & Hedges pack: "Extra Long. King Size." She was again slightly embarrased but still happy for her daughter.
The third girl left for her honeymoon in the Caribbean. Mom waited for a week, nothing. Another week went by, and still nothing. Then after a whole month, a card finally arrived. Written on it with shaky handwriting were the words: "British Airways." Mom took out her latest Harper's Bazaar magazine, flipped through the pages fearing the worst, and finally found the ad for the airline. The ad said: "Three times a day, seven days a week, both ways." Mom fainted.

Ripped it off somebody - not my own

Got this story from somebody else's blog. Should I reference it? haha. Essay writing mode.
So the story goes..
A Very Good Husband

Robin wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Robin looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table. "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love You!"
So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Robin asks, "Son, what happened last night?" His son says, "Well, you came home around 3 AM, drunk and delirious. Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you tumbled into the door". Confused, Robin asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me? I should expect a big quarrel with her!"
His son replies, Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your clothes and shoes off, you said, "Lady leave me alone! I'm married!"

Feeding Birds in Venice

Me feeding birds in Venice during Hari Raya 2005.
Notice that I've ran out of bird food and went on to buy a new pack from one of the birdfood seller that was selling right beside me. There's also that boy in the green jacket who tried to 'steal my thunder'. One of my classmates, when I showed this video to her, screamed "Its all over you! How could you play with these pigeons! They are like rats, with wings!!" Its good fun anyway.

Been to Venice twice now. But I'd like to go there again sometime soon. My favourite place in Europe over any other places that i've seen and been. The best.

We'll go there together soon eh, Ayang? hehe.

Me - The Rempit Years

Missing my old bike at the moment. Remembering the times that i used to ride my bike at 170 on the highway..or 100kmh in the middle of a traffic jam between cars. Still, the best place for me to be those time was on the Penang Bridge, 140-150kmh mencilok between cars and lorries. Best feeling ever when reached the other side of the bridge. It feels like I'm victorious. The moment has passed, and im grateful that in those years of riding bikes like a manic, nothing really serious happened to me. Yes, once I collide with a Kancil when I'm 16, the first experience of flying at high speed. Then theres the second one when I'm 18, but this time the bike flew over me instead. Both time escaped with only bruises and minor injuries, scrapped skins, but nothing serious. No broken bones and limbs just yet. Of course there the occasional minor accidents here and there, but thats just life as a motorcycle rider in Malaysia. gotta accept that.

Now sold my bike to a relative, and theres nothing decent enough to ride at home in Malaysia. Only a restored vintage Honda Cup 50cc (honda bulat) and a bbllluueegghhh 4-stroke suzuki. No more my Suzuki RGV 120CC. More into 4 wheels at the moment, or BMW 328Ci to be precise, hehe.

However, these are the pics of my old bike

Looking like a true rempit

Rempit's 2002 Handsfree Special Edition - Nokia 3310
Gotta have one of these
Well, just for clarification:
I dont race. I dont ride in large groups harassing people. I dont ride on one wheel. I dont snatch people's handbags. I just like speed. I like mencilok.

Abang Botak

How could I actually forgot to mention this in my last post? Im botak at the mo, kinda a biggie for me coz the last time I did this was way back in 1999. Even then I wasn't shaving my head.
So thats how my head looks like bald.

Was it really that bad?

Whoooaaaa...I'm actually watching Adik (1990) at the moment, ala that movie with Mr Os as the retard kid, the brother of Mustapha Kamal, but had to stop for a moment to think. There was a scene in the movie, which blown my head to pieces. See this:

Might not be that obvious to you, but mind that two guys in front of the entrance. WHAT ARE THEY WEARING?? DAMMMNNNN hahahahahahahahahahahahaha RED and YELLOW!! I mean its 1990 do they still wore that? There's another one:

There's another guy wearing a TURQUOISE suit in that scene. These three are supposed to be the 'kaki pukul' in the movie. Well Im not sure coz this is as far as I watched this movie at the moment..but it seems like it.

Well before somebody bashed me for mocking those people who wore RED and YELLOW suits, while I myself wore them in my wedding, its a baju kawin mana sama ngan gi birthday party wearing those!

Ok I got another one for you to check out...this is from the back of a Bloodshed album Ilusi Sebuah Mimpi, released in 1987 (well everybody knows I'm a rock kapak fan BUT I didnt actually have this album, just downloaded it from TorrentMalaya);-

Pink suit, pink-black striped pants, really tight jeans, and THOSE HAIRS! Now thats a sight! I mean for them in 1987 these will really make it worthwhile to go up on the top of a KL skyscraper, get dressed up like that, and take photographs of a lifetime. The scenes in the recent 'Rock' movie was proven not to be exagerating the actual scenes of life in that era.

I myself actually got some 'tempias' from that age. The embarasssing fact is, about more than half a decade later, when I was 14 I went to have one of those turquoise pants specially made for me. The colour was exactly one like this:

Well, not to be misleading you guys by putting a photo of a hot women, (dont be jealous ayang, u're still the hottest for me, hehe) but this was the colour of my pant. And Im proud of it. Or at least I was.

Look look! Just found the pic of me with the turquoise pant:

Haha! Thats me and my bro just on the side of Selat Tebrau, overlooking the controversial Tambak Johor in the background. The pant was one year old by that time, so its already faded. Looking at it now, it wasnt actually that bad, really. What do you guys think? I dont even know where the pant is now, maybe in the basement of my house back in Malaysia. Might even be gone for good.

I'd love to have a time machine and go back to those days. Just to sit in the middle of KL and watch what people wear.

Happy (Belated) Batch Bday!

It seems that nobody mentioned on their blogs about the KMYS 2001-2003 Batch Birthday on the 15th of May. I was supposed to have an entry about it, thought about it on the 13th but decided to wait until the day itself to write up the entry. Ended up forgetting all about it until a few days ago because of all the exams but since nobodys mentioning it anywhere, I decided to still put up an entry to remind you guys who have forgotten.

No long entry, I'm studying at the moment for a paper tomorrow afternoon and just taking my break for a while. Started 30 hours before the exam as usual. So, anyway,

HAPPY BATCH BIRTHDAY!

The Cultural Performance in the first few weeks of the batch's life

The 1st Batch Anniversary cake. Can't believe its already been 5 years and most of you are going back for good this summer.

P.S: Today, (21st May) is the first day I've met Aiza and all other Architecture student, we met by the piano in the Great Hall to discuss the subjects that we should take for the A-Levels. Maybe we already seen each other earlier, but this was the first time we talked. So, Happy Friendship Day Aiza and all others.

More time! more time!

I just learned the fact that you NEED to study earlier before an exam. Not just 30 hours before your paper which is just plain stupid. And it is down to less than 20 hours now. But one more thing I learned: my unattended module which I missed every other Thursday can be learned by myself, by the aid of lecture notes downloaded from the faculty website, and past year papers. And textbooks. Im not revising, Im learning from the very beginning.
I just wish I have more time. Maybe if I could stop time? I could be watching movies, tv series or read Wikipedia (I blame you Ipe for introducing me to wiki, I just cant get enough of it) or just sitting there on my bed doing nothing at this moment in time. I mean looong moment when time stops. Which can be argued, if I could stop time I would be like "Alah kalut apa study...lepak luuu esok start ar study...time kan tak jalan ni." Come tomorrow, and I still havent studied, yet another day extends. Another after another after another. and its still Tuesday the 16th. Which, when I come to think of it, I cannot afford to, having in mind that I have 4 more years to come here in the UK. I cant extend more of that. Thats enough.
Okay lemme see those lecture notes again...

Gotta get me one of these

Nokia 8800. It just have the features of a nokia 6230i (without the memory card slot), not much of up-to-date features, but it has the image of elegance and excellence. This might be why the expression "dont judge a book by its cover" came up. ceh. And its cost a bunch as well. Not that it cost that much for Nokia to make it, its just that Nokia controls its pricing for it to be seen as a luxury phone, and only could be afforded by rich people. Not that im rich, but if i could get it for free on a contract, and it is a nice phone, why not get it? anyway im up for an upgrade next week and THIS is the one I have in mind. Had all the feature phone in the past, dont really use all its functions, so now im going back to what a phone was: a phone.
hehe. but thats not all. my other contract is also up for an upgrade. actually it was a week ago but i'll wait until if i could get the 8800 first, then i'll decide which phone i want with the other contract. maybe a sony ericsson W800i again coz the supposedly newer W810i sucks big time. or maybe the new Motorola RAZR V3im with iTunes. we'll see la how.
hoi im supposed to be studying! hahahah esok tghari exammm..pk pasal phone pulak. ceeehhh

Exams

Hey..as most of you might have known, its exams time! Gonna start my first one on Monday, fortunately most of my papers (four in all) are at 1.30pm except one, the last one on 30th of May at 9am. It doesn't seem much, but considering i just started studying gonna really make me crazy. Well, not that crazy. But I also have the work to bear (BnQ work) and the finalizing of my architectural studio portfolio to do. So, a busy month. Maybe not a lot of updates but most of the time i'll be here in my desk in front of the computer, so who knows if i actually got some ideas to blog about? We'll see. Here is my exams timetable:
15 May 1.30pm - Management & Decision Making
17 May 1.30pm - Building Services Engineering
22 May 1.30pm - Planning Theory & Philosophy
30 May 9.00am - Theories of Architecture
Well, again, not much, definately not as stressful as mona's, but hey, I missed a lot of classes this year so I'll have to make up for those this time of the year. From square one that is. Buona Fortuna.

Okay, which one? Any opinion? (updated)

Just ordered the Coach handbag from Yunni as hantaran for my wedding in August. Now time for mine. I was wondering whether to get a watch now or should I wait till I get back to Malaysia in June. There would be some nice selection of watches in Malaysia, and the prices are quite competitive and I could actually try them on before buying them. But at the moment I got a specific watch in mind, and I'm worried I wouldnt get the same one in Malaysia. Its this Tissot Trend Dress TXL Chrono, in black leather strap with black face or brown strap with white face. If u read my blog earlier, you'd realise I only bought leather strap watches. The reason for this is I cant wear steel wristwatches, its just too painful. Hehe not that I'm allegic to steel or anything, I just got hairy wrists and it would get stuck between the watch parts (is it too much information I'm telling you guys?). Its USD$400 but I can actually get them for as low as $288 for the black one or $328 for the white (without shipping from the US). I thought about it a while ago when I was getting my Victorinox watch and I was more inclided to go for the white-faced one with the brown strap, coz it really looks more professional and elegant. But I admit the black one looks sleekier. Its a tough choice, only if I could get my hand on them to compare...

damn its hard to upload pics on the blogger website nowadays. Lemme just publish this first before it dissapear, wasting my time and energy trying to update the site.

At last got them uploaded with much hassle. Damn bugger. Okay, back to the issue, what do you think? Any second opinion? Or, should I say sixth, or seventh opinion? hehe

Update: I think I've made my mind on the watch. Its gonna be the brown-white one. Found on the net that it was recomended by askmen.com:

The Trendy Casual Watch

"If you're looking to make a statement, look no further. Tissot engineered this watch for the fashion-oriented urbanite with a leading and innovative personality. Being a great icebreaker, it's the perfect "going out" watch. Wear it with jeans and your other trendy threads."

And I like the strap as well. Its the kind of a leather strap with a closed buckle at the back type. Really cool.

I wonder how such a small thing could really amuse me. If I were back in Malaysia and not come here, I dont think I would ever lay my hands on these babies. Not anywhere soon anyway. =p

Usah disebut-sebut, kan dah mai dah dia

Hum. Remember when I told you guys that I got 4 speeding fines that I've gotten away with here in the UK? Well, there's actually a fifth one. Its not me but it is my car. The Old L256HUD. Driven by Pet the third day he arrives in Bristol. Not entirely his fault though..how should he know how the traffic works over here.

I thought I got away with this one as well until this morning. When the letter arrives somewhere in October, I replied saying it was me who's driving the car at the moment (coz Pet wasnt insured to drive the vehicle so I dont wanna make more mess outta this) and I dont have a UK driving licence but instead an International Driving Permit, and hope I wont hear from them again. Thats what I've done with the previous ones anyway. Nearly 6 months later this morning, the reply finally arrives. It reads:

"You are hereby summoned to appear before the Magistrates' Court sitting at Magistrates' Court, North Parade Road, Bath BA1 5AF on the 9th day of May 2006 at 10.00AM....."(and so on)

It even includes some written evidence from the witnesses, namely the Chief of Constable, and the clerical officer in the Camera Processing Unit. They also included a handsome black and white photo of my late means of transportation:

What a good memoir of a recently scrapped and flattened (literally) car. The vehicle was going 50mph on a 40mph speed limit road. For me, personally, I would rather be caught speeding in the Veyron doing 250mph on that road. That would/should make it to the headlines. And followed with my deportation back to Malaysia the next day.

There goes my clean, plain white criminal record here in the UK. Next time I commit another crime, the police would be like "yeah he's not a good boy..he's got a conviction on him once"

First time to the UK court. Gotta take some pictures of the magistrates' wig and outfit this time. Haha.

I'm officially a convict now.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4

For once, I think, I'm blogging about something that dont have anything to do with me. Not near soon anyway. Blugghh. Not ever actually.
I'm supposed to do uni work, but instead I'm reading about this car. Its the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, a super fast, super expensive car at £810,345. Some of you might not realize how expensive that is yet. To give you an idea, a low-end Porche is priced at £30,000, and the top end is somewhere at £140,000. Even the wooh-woohhhh Ferrari Enzo is priced at £415,000. Imagine £810,345, and I think thats not including the UK tax yet. Try adding the Malaysian car import duty on that. Phew. Not that I just heard about it, this car has been on the news since whenever, and I actually have been reading a lot on it. But it entered my mind again tonight..found few articles about it and for me, the most mind blowing, first-person experience article by Jeremy Clarkson has made this car stitched to my brain right now.
The car goes up to 252mph or 403kph, which at the moment the fastest production car around. All that power and it have 10 radiators which are needed to cool the monster inside. Did you hear me right? 10 RADIATORS! The McLaren F1 is not even in the same league as the Veyron. Eventhough the McLaren could top 240mph, its not stable and pretty much out of control. In a drag race you could let the McLaren get to 120mph before setting off in the Veyron. And you’d still get to 200mph first. The Bugatti is way, way faster than anything else the roads have ever seen. The F1 cars only go up to 360kph. Imagine that? Well, you could argue that the world's ground speed record is 763mph, achieved by Andy Green in 1997. He drove a jet-powered car on a desert somewhere but we're talking real cars here, on the road.
I'm always been a fan of top speed cars. Not that I know a lot, but I've always been doing some speeding in my driving. My poor Rover 214i even reached 210kph or just a little bit over 120mph. And thats because that is as fast as it can get. My normal driving here in the UK on the motorway are 100 to 110mph. No wonder I already got like 4 speeding ticket here in the UK but fortunately have always get away with it. I like to be getting a faster car, at 150mph top speed wouldnt hurt I guess. Wait until I get my hands on my own BMW one day.
Just reading the history and Clarkson's experience has made my heart goes faster. I cant describe it myself. In Clarkson's words:
"From behind the wheel of a Veyron, France is the size of a small coconut. I cannot tell you how fast I crossed it the other day. Because you simply wouldn’t believe me. I also cannot tell you how good this car is. I just don’t have the vocabulary. I just end up stammering and dribbling and talking wide-eyed nonsense. And everyone thinks I’m on drugs. "
"Other cars are small guesthouses on the front at Brighton and the Bugatti is the Burj Al Arab. It makes even the Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT feel slow and pointless. It is a triumph for lunacy over common sense, a triumph for man over nature and a triumph for Volkswagen over absolutely every other car maker in the world. "

What I do at work: updated

Okay, I have described what I do to some of you verbally, but I am sure most of you dont even know what I do at work in B&Q. This picture tells it. Those blue boxes (or called totes, the jargon at B&Q) contains small bits of stock that I have to put away in their place. The picture shows me in the plumbing aisle, and in the background are all the tiny bits of pipework on pegs or boxes. So I took the small bits of plumbing items from the blue boxes, and I put them to their places in the back of the picture. Thats basically what I do everyday at work. But thats not all, sometimes i do heavy works as well. And on Sunday I tidy up the store. Kemas2 sikit. Kuli batak la katakan. But I like the job. Nice and easy.

Answering the call from atoy, I'm putting this up as well. We're not all serious at work, sometimes we play with the machines. There a a lot of machines to play (bare in mind we're not supposed to), this one is called a WAVE machine for putting stuff in high places (hey its really high sometimes, not just for someone who is vertically challenged like me) and theres the power pallet truck, but no atoy we cant play with the forklift machine - we need a licence for it. Its a lot bigger and more dangerous. Ouh and there's the electric wheelchair as well hahaha

Anyone remembered my hair?

As you can see I am browsing through my pictures collection again hence the multiple updating of my blog. Pictures tell a thousand words. missed this hair and since I am going to be here in UK for the next 4 years, this hair might grow again. Thats 2 years of my hair in the picture. Cut them last summer because my father wont take me anywhere. There's once my dad asked me to follow him go camping in Pangkor "Hah adi minggu depan buat pa? jom ikut abah pi camping kat pangkor" and then he hesitated for 2 seconds and then said "Huumm takpalah tak payah ikutlah". When asked why, my dad answered plainly "malu kat kawan2 ghambut hang tu panjang..abah dah la cikgu" hahaha then I cut my hair. Its also for my engagement la =)

And again

Well, this was an embarassing moment. Anak bapak, you might say. But this was Mr J in my side on the bus to KL. Cant remember why he was on the bus with us..oh I might remember actually. Maybe the Computing class trip to the Mimos Centre somewhere near Bukit Jalil but I'm really not sure.

The story:

I came into the bus first, then Mr J (or Abang J, some might call him) came in and sat beside me. We never actually met before, at least not one on one like that. So there was an awkward moment there. Then realizing the tense in the small little space between us, he started a conversation "Erm..ape nama awak?" and I answered short "Junaidi". Full stop. Few moments later, he asked again "Awak ni asal dari mana?" Short again I answered "Sungai Petani, Kedah." Then, not knowing what to ask again both of us pretended to sleep. I dont know, I am anyway.

For the rest of the 45 minute trip to KL, I was talking to myself: "wwwooiiii bila nak sampai nihhh!!!"

haha and then the next thing i know syuen showed me this picture he took of us. You can actually see my eyebrows berkerut-kerut memikirkan nasib diriku yang malang oh tuhan. Damn I wouldnt wanna be put next to him again ever. I mean ever. haha

Gotta put this up

Those were the "veterans" that came in the KMYS Alumni Weekend (yeah, KMYUEM, whatever) in Southampton. Looks like a regular poyo pose of all of us. But theres some corner worth emphasizing:

yeah..go dug. hahahahaha

Story Of A Watch

Hum...thats quite some time since the last update..been to many places since I last updated 3 weeks ago. Been to Nottingham, Coventry, and Southampton. No need to further eloborate these because you guys can catch up by reading other's blog.

The story for today, is the story of a watch. Not much, but considering I'm actually updating is dah cukup besar tuah dah.

Okay, this watch, a Victorinox Swiss Army Excursion has gone a long way back in my memory, at least 2 years. I first saw this watch in Luzern, Switzerland and I immediately fell in love at first sight. I shoulda bought it there and then. But, thanks to others in the Switzerland trip, who says "U dont need to buy it now, we're in Switzerland there'll be many more watch shops and you'll maybe getting a better bargain for the same watch, or some better watch." So I let it go.

Unfortunately didn't come across any more watch shops worth looking at because our Switzerland trip are more of a sightseeing one, not a shopping spree type. Frustrated not getting a watch in Switzerland, I bought a watch for Shu, liking it while a few days later when it arrived to Shu in Japan, the watch is the same as the one her bestfriend there is wearing! damn. But she liked it and I liked it so let it be.

Then I have forgotten about this Victorinox for quite some time until I saw it back in Malaysia (in One Utama to be exact) last summer. But it was the end of summer when I'm nearly broke, which if I saw it when I just got back in June I would just buy it in a flick. So thats a bugger off again.

Its getting boring, but just keep reading coz there's a twist. hehe.

Then, last month my Timex was broken. Used to wearing a watch all the time I started looking for a watch, and living here in the UK and earning in pound sterling I could buy a better watch this time. Then saw the Victorinox again at Redfingerprint.com which is based in California. Ordered it straight away, but getting doubts whether to buy just one better watch for my wedding hantaran or just buy two watches (one for hantaran, one for pakai hari-hari) I cancelled the order. Then few things happened, to cut the story short I ordered the same watch again from the same company.

The website states that "Our operation and distribution centers are located in Asia to lower overhead and shipping cost. This permits us to pass on the savings to you." Okay fair enough they want to cut costs.

Then, today the watch came in from Fedex after 3 days. Half awake, I signed the signature release form and got the package. The document on the shipment reads:

Sender:

Alex Teoh

G20, Pertama Complex,

Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman,

50100 Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia.

Huh. Cut cost la sangat. From Luzern, Switzerland to Pertama Complex, Kuala Lumpur. Whatever. At least I got my watch.
